Queensland pensioner's new surprise after 'much loved' scooter robbery
A Queensland pensioner has been the recipient of a very generous act of kindness, following his $3000 electric scooter being stolen right in front of him.
After 9News yesterday broke the story on 77-year-old Jim Nealon's plea to get his much-loved scooter back, several locals have gotten in touch and offered to give him an entirely new scooter for free.
The outpouring of support and generous offers "completely bowled" Mr Nealon over.

"I feel ecstatic, feeling over the moon," Mr Nealon told 9News.
One of those offers came from business iScoot New Farm, who today gave Mr Nealon a completely new $2000 electric scooter for free.
iScoot General Manager Steve Rutherford said the blatant daylight robbery is becoming a more common occurrence in southeast Queensland as the vehicles become more popular.

"Throughout the Brisbane region, there's been a number of scooters stolen, particularly off city streets and very brazen theft as well," Mr Rutherford told 9News.
Some tips to help up and coming riders secure the scooter include:
- Lock up your scooter with a decent chain or steel lock
- Choose a scooter with an ignition key
- Install an immobiliser
- Think about where your park your vehicle
