Man, 34, rushed to hospital with gunshot wound to head after suspected targeted shooting in Queensland

A man is fighting for his life in hospital with a gunshot wound to the head following what police believe was a targeted shooting in Queensland.

The 34-year-old was rushed to hospital around 9pm yesterday after being shot at a property on Fort Street, Maryborough, around 250km from Brisbane.

Police say the offender fled the scene and a manhunt is now underway.

It has been described as a "suspected targeted incident" and there is no threat to the community.
