Boy dies, brother critical after house fire west of Toowoomba

A boy has died and his brother is fighting for life after a fire broke out at a home west of Toowoomba.

Nathan Perry pulled his sons Jeremy and Blade, aged three and four, from the burning Weranga home around 8pm on Tuesday and all three were taken to hospital.

Mr Perry, 34, was treated for burns on his arms before being released to be with his sons.

The family yesterday afternoon made the decision to switch off four-year-old Blade's life support and he died shortly afterwards.

Jeremy remains critical with burns to 90 percent of his body.

Authorities are now working to determine the cause of the blaze.

Mr Perry had been renovating the steel building and posted to Facebook earlier this year on his work on the property.

"Not sure if I'm doing it up as I seem to be pulling a lot of it down. In the end it will be right, it will be nice and my boys will be comfy," he wrote.
