Missing Queensland girl found safe and well

Queensland Police have found a baby girl safe and well, hours after an amber alert was issued for her.

The one-year-old had been missing since the Gold Coast suburb of Southport since yesterday afternoon.

Police expressed their serious concerns based on the immense amount of rain the Gold Coast has received in the past 24 hours.

But she has been found safe and well.

A 45-year-old man is assisting police with their inquiries.
