Qld woman serious after crashing into tree

A Queensland woman is in a serious condition after crashing her car into a tree after reportedly fleeing a minor crash.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was trapped in her car after veering down an embankment in the Gold Coast hinterland around 8am, an ambulance spokeswoman said.
The Gold Coast Bulletin reports she lost control while attempting to overtake another car she had hit.

She has been rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
