Qld woman in 70s escapes burning car

An elderly woman has had a lucky escape after her car hit a tree and burst into flames on the Gold Coast.

The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was found near the burning car by paramedics at Benowa Waters on Wednesday morning.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman couldn't confirm the woman was pulled from the wreckage by a passing cyclist and said she was treated for minor injuries at Gold Coast University hospital.
