Qld woman faces trial over headless torso

A woman accused of decapitating her partner and dumping his headless body beside a Sunshine Coast road is facing trial after being charged with murder.

Lindy Yvonne Williams is due to stand trial in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on Monday over the death of George Gerbic, 66, at Tanawha in September 2013.

The 66-year-old's charred torso was found on a roadside near Gympie, more than 80km away from where he was allegedly murdered, and it took authorities almost a year to identify his body.
