Qld woman dies after alleged assault

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman a day after she sustained head injuries in a fight in southeast Queensland.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital after the fight at a house in Wolvi, east of Gympie, on Thursday afternoon.

She died at the Gold Coast University Hospital the following day.

A police spokeswoman said officers were speaking to several witnesses on Sunday but no arrests had been made.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out on Monday to determine the cause of death.
