Qld train derailed after hitting boat

A train has been derailed after hitting an abandoned fishing boat in north Queensland.

The cane train came unstuck when it collided with a boat abandoned on tracks at Packers Camp south of Cairns on Monday afternoon.

Police believe a car may have been towing the boat across the tracks when it became stuck.

No injuries were reported.
