Qld thieves strike again in stolen car

Thieves who stole a four wheel drive from a Brisbane house have apparently returned to the property in the stolen car and tried to have another crack at robbing it.

Police say the car and other belongings went missing from the home on Short Street, Boronia Heights, some time over the Australia Day long weekend.

They believe that on Wednesday morning the same two robbers tried to break into the home after returning in the stolen 4WD.

The 67-year-old resident, who recognised the car, chased the men out of the house after a scuffle, injuring his head in the process.

Police are calling for public information about the vehicle - a 2002 model silver Mitsubishi Challenger with Queensland registration 394REA.
