AAP
Some communities south of Brisbane have been warned of flash flooding as a severe storm dumps significant amounts of rain.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued the warning after a severe thunderstorm was detected on the radar south of the Logan suburb of Beenleigh just after 11am.
Parts of the Logan and Gold Coast council areas have been told they could experience flash flooding, with Hotham Creek, west of Coomera on the Gold Coast, recording 9 centimetres of rain in just two hours.
