Qld premier's popularity drops: poll

The popularity of Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk among Queensland voters has plummeted, a new poll has found.

A Galaxy Poll, commissioned for The Courier-Mail, shows Ms Palaszczuk is still ahead of Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg as preferred premier 49-30, but it's a sizeable drop from the 54-26 result polled in November - three months ago.

Labor also trails the Liberal National Party 48-52 on a two-party preferred basis, the poll conducted this week indicated.

It comes after a Morgan Poll, released this month, also put the LNP ahead 52-48 two-party preferred.

It noted Mr Springborg had gained ground on Ms Palaszczuk, but still put the premier ahead 61.5 per cent to 34.5 per cent as the state's preferred leader.

Roy Morgan Research executive director Gary Morgan attributed Labor's woes to the instability caused by government MP Rob Pyne publicly speaking out against his party's contentious lockout laws.
