Qld police seize 30kg drug chemicals
Queensland police say a drug lab and 30kg stash of precursor chemicals found in a home on Brisbane's bayside could have produced 7.5kg of ecstasy.
The home on Macleay Island was raided last week after a tip-off from the Australian Crime Commission.
Detectives found $3200 cash, chemicals and glassware in a set-up that is believed to have been producing large quantities of the drugs ecstasy and fantasy.
It took specialist officers three days to dismantle the complex lab.
A 35-year-old local man has been charged with producing dangerous drugs and will face the Cleveland Magistrates Court on December 8.
Tip-offs from the public were crucial in the search for drug labs, Detective Superintendent Jon Wacker said.
"If you notice anything suspicious at all about a residence, we encourage you to contact Crime Stoppers."
