Qld police blow up device left at eatery
AAP
Bomb squad officers have blown up a suspicious device found in the carpark of a fast-food outlet west of Brisbane.
A member of the public discovered the device, which was made from metal pipes and nuts and bolts, outside the eatery in the Ipswich suburb of Booval on Monday night.
Bomb squad officers later moved it to nearby bushland and blew it up.

"The device itself was probably three to four inches high, and consisted of a metal pipe with a couple of bolts and nuts around the outside of it. Then on top of the device, was a long piece of metal that looked like the tail of a rivet," Inspector Keith McDonald told ABC radio.
Investigations are continuing.
