On a day where Queensland's economy was front and centre, Jackie Trad was not.

In the opening hours of the first full sitting week in months, the state government took its chance to unveil how it will steer the state out of an economic crisis.

Businesses forced to shut their doors, whole industries ground to a halt and at least 129,000 people out of a job because of the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the economy into a dire state.

Billions of dollars of previously announced funding has now been allocated to the tourism sector, road upgrades, a jobs program and medical supply manufacturing.

Missing from the front bench and a press conferece involving more than a dozen industry stakeholders was the former treasurer.

Ms Trad must now come to terms with being a backbencher after resigning from her ministerial duties amid a Crime and Corruption Commission investigation.
