Qld opposition to deliver budget reply

Queensland's opposition will offer its alternative economic blueprint for the state.

Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls will deliver his budget reply speech in parliament on Thursday.

Mr Nicholls has been scathing of Treasurer Curtis Pitt's second budget, handed down on Tuesday, describing it as a budget of "raids, rip-offs and write-downs".

The Liberal National Party (LNP) on Wednesday particularly seized on the government's decision to repatriate $4 billion from QSuper's defined benefit scheme for public servants to fund infrastructure and debt reduction.

"Mr Speaker, Domino's wouldn't have this treasurer deliver a pizza," Mr Nicholls told parliament on Wednesday.

He then started question time by declaring: "Do you like that one, fellas? Because there's more to come."

The opposition spent the rest of question time critiquing the government's decision to ignore initial State Actuary advice to only repatriate $2 billion from the scheme.
