Qld opposition announces ice plan

Queensland's opposition says it plans to tackle the state's ice scourge through crime prevention, drug enforcement services and strong enforcement.

Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls announced the five point-plan - including $1 million for the "dob in a dealer" initiative, keeping bikie clubhouses closed and ensuring law enforcement agencies work together - while campaigning in Toowoomba South on Monday ahead of Saturday's state by-election.

"Ice use can tear families apart and sadly it has increased in rural and remote communities in recent years, but the LNP has a plan to tackle the issue with a targeted and comprehensive strategy to complement the federal government's National Ice Action Plan," Mr Nicholls said.
