Two men have drowned after they were pulled from the surf at Teewah Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

"The kids were wading in the shallows and were caught out by a rouge wave, as a result of that a lot of children were dragged out into the deeper water," Craig McKenxie from Queensland Police told 9News.

"A couple of the parents have gone in to rescue the children."

A young child, aged nine, was also pulled from the surf and has been taken to the Sunshine Coast University in a stable condition.
