Qld MP wants health minister investigated

A Queensland MP accused of moonlighting as a nurse wants state parliament's powerful ethics committee to investigate Health Minister Cameron Dick.

Mr Dick this week told parliment he gave Mudgeeraba MP Ros Bates written permission to visit two Gold Coast hospital for 30 minutes but later asked the health ombudsman to investigate after she admitted to completing two full night shifts.

Ms Bates says her office never received the letter from Mr Dick and insists she was shadowing clinicians.

"I believe the Minister for Health has deliberately misled the house," she told parliament on Thursday, added that she would be asking for the matter to be referred to the ethics committee.
