Qld motorist charged for driving into man

A Queensland motorist will face court for allegedly driving a car into another man and assaulting him.

Police allege the 30-year-old victim was struck as he attempted to flag down the car, which was driven by a man he knew, on the Dreamworld Parkway on the Gold Coast just before midnight on Monday.

A fight ensued and police later found the driver inside the Coomera Tavern, allegedly armed with a knife.

He'll face Southport Magistrates Court in August charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault occasioning bodily harm, going armed in public and possession of a dangerous drug.
