Qld mayor in court following CCC charges
AAP
Fraser Coast Regional Council mayor Chris Loft has faced court after being charged by Queensland's Crime and Corruption Commission.
The 66-year-old, who is accused of misconduct in office while mayor, appeared before Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday morning only saying "good morning" when questioned outside by waiting media.
He's facing five charges, which include misconduct in office, disclosure of official secrets and computer hacking. The charges were laid by the Crime and Corruption Commission in November.

The embattled council had been investigated by the corruption watchdog for about five months before Loft was charged.
Loft is due to return to court on March 1.
