Qld man with baby in arms stabbed

A man has been stabbed in the back while he was sitting in a car with a baby in his arms on the Sunshine Coast.

Queensland police are investigating the incident which occurred after an argument with another man on Friday afternoon.

Police say the wounded man, 42, got out of the station-wagon with the nine-month-old baby he was holding and was taken to Nambour Hospital.

The baby was unharmed and the man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and assisting police with their inquiries.

The offender drove away in the white Holden Commodore station wagon, police say.

A police spokesman could not say whether the baby was related to either man.
