Qld man to face attempted murder hearing

A Gold Coast man will find out next month if he'll face trial over the alleged shooting of another man in February.
Jay Ellison has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting Nicholas Pickering twice in the stomach outside Pickering's Southport home earlier this year.
Ellison, who is in custody, did not appear at Southport Magistrates Court on Friday as a committal hearing for the charge was set for December 21.
