Qld man tasered after police axe threat

A man accused of threatening police with an axe in northwest Queensland had to be tasered to be subdued.

Police say they were called to a disturbance in Mount Isa about 1.50am when the agitated man, 37, confronted them with the axe and made threats.

He was tasered after he refused to disarm himself and will appear Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Friday morning charged with seriously assaulting police.
