Qld man stabbed after disturbing intruder

A man has been repeatedly stabbed after disturbing an intruder who broke into his home in central Queensland.
The 55-year-old man has wounds to his head, hands and shoulder and police have launched a manhunt for his attacker, who fled the home at Benaraby, south of Gladstone, in a stolen car on Tuesday afternoon.
His injuries are not considered life threatening.

The offender later crashed into a police car before fleeing on foot.
The car he used had been stolen from the Rockhampton area earlier on Tuesday.
Police are searching the area between Childers and Appletree Creek for the attacker, and have urged residents to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity.
