Missing Qld swimmer a homeless man

Police have released the name and image of a homeless man who went missing after going for a late-night swim on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Ricky Gardner, 37, was last seen entering the water and swimming away from shore at Noosa Main Beach about 12.30am on Saturday.
"It is unknown whether the man made it back to shore or exited the water safely," a police statement read.

Police said Mr Gardner had been living in a van that was regularly seen in the Noosa area.
He's described as Caucasian, about 178cm tall, with a slim build and light complexion.
Water police and other agencies have been searching for him since he was seen getting into the water.
