Qld man critical after ute hits his shed

A 74-year-old man is in a critical condition after a ute slammed into his backyard shed.

Police say the 50-year-old male driver is also in a serious condition after he lost control of the ute on a bend at Nerimbera, just outside of Rockhampton in central Queensland, around 9.30am AEST.

The vehicle hit a ditch before ploughing into the steel shed, in which the older man was working.

Both men have been taken to the Rockhampton Base Hospital.
