Qld man charged over gun theft

A man has been charged after allegedly being part of a trio that stole a gun from a from a Sunshine Coast home.

The 20-year-old Bellara man broke into at a home in Nambour with two other men on Wednesday morning, police say.

He is scheduled to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday on six charges including robbery and trespassing.

One man, who is believed to have taken off with the gun before dumping it, remains on the run.

He is described as having a red hair and a goatee.
