Qld man bashed by bike thieves: police

A Queensland man who tried to stop a group from stealing a bicycle has been repeatedly punched in the face.

Police say the 32-year-old man followed the group in his car after seeing them take the bike from outside a home at East Mackay about 2am on June 25.

When he approached them he was punched repeatedly in the face by one of the thieves, requiring hospitalisation for his injuries.
