Qld litter grants on national Clean Up day
AAP
Queensland's environment minister has announced more than $250,000 worth of litter and illegal dumping grants to coincide with Clean Up Australia Day.
The grants go to a range of community groups, including $50,000 for UnitingCare to help tackle littering and illegal dumping around charity bins and stores.
"The program supports a small number of innovative projects that bring together the expertise and energy of a range of interested parties," said Environment Minister Steven Miles as the nationwide clean-up continued on Sunday.
