Qld Labor leads LNP in latest poll
Queensland's minority Labor government is breathing easier after a favourable poll suggests they have an election-winning lead over the Liberal National Party.
The Morgan poll of 821 Queensland voters also shows Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is well ahead of Lawrence Springborg in the popularity stakes.
Palaszczuk's government has regained its two-party preferred lead over the LNP, 52 per cent to 48 per cent - a four per cent improvement for Labor on the last poll two months ago.
Ms Palaszczuk is also well ahead of Mr Springborg with 63.5 per cent of poll respondents backing her over the Opposition Leader.
The positive news for Labor comes at a time when their power is under threat with the numbers in the house deadlocked at 42 each for Labor and the LNP in the 89-seat parliament.
That means four north Queensland-based crossbenchers have the power to block the government's legislation.
