Qld husband in court after murder charge

The husband of missing woman Julie Hutchinson is set to face a Townsville court charged with her murder.

Michael Hutchinson, 47, was charged with his scientist wife's murder late Monday afternoon.

He's expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

In addition to the murder charge, he has also been charged with interfering with a corpse.

The 48-year-old mother was reported missing by her sister last Thursday but she hasn't been seen since early March.

Police are continuing their investigation and still haven't found her body or car.

They're also appealing for anyone who might have spotted her silver Mazda 6 sedan to come forward.

A search of a vacant block in the Townsville suburb of Mount Louisa for "items of interest" is also expected to continue on Tuesday.
