Queensland man who sparked Bali flight hijack scare to learn fate in court today

A plane passenger accused of sparking a hijack scare by pounding on the cockpit door is set to discover his fate.

New South Welshman Matt Christopher Lockley, 28, triggered Virgin's hijack drill when he allegedly demanded entry to the cockpit during a flight from Brisbane to Denpasar in April.

Flight attendant Angela Demo has told Brisbane Magistrates Court Lockley earlier gained the attention of the flight crew with his strange behaviour.

Lockley had seemed nervous, his eyes were dilated and he was possibly under the influence of drugs, Ms Demo testified on Thursday.

When the plane landed it was boarded by Indonesian military and police who escorted Lockley from the plane.

Lockley insisted his behaviour was due to a panic attack.

Magistrate Judy Daley is due to deliver her verdict in the case at 9.30am on Friday.
