Queensland's government has introduced new domestic violence laws to parliament.

Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath on Tuesday afternoon tabled a bill to slap harsher penalties on domestic violence offenders.

"We must make sure the perpetrators are aware of the seriousness of their offending," she told parliament.
