The Queensland government will provide $6.4 million to help overstretched domestic violence services in the state.
Acting Premier Jackie Trad said an immediate one-off $1.17 million payment would be given to support services, while $5.2 million over five years will go towards new local sexual assault services.
"Queensland is determined to tackle the scourge of domestic and family violence and providing help for victims is a vital part of that," Ms Trad said.
