Qld girls 'steal cab' from service station

A Queensland teenager and her two friends have been detained by Gold Coast police after allegedly taking a joyride in a taxi.

The trio were taken into custody after allegedly stealing the cab when the driver left the keys in the ignition at an Arundel service station early on Wednesday morning.

An 18-year-old woman is expected to be charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle while two other girls, both juveniles, were released to their parents after being taken into custody.
