Qld eases restrictions from Monday

The state government will ease movement restrictions that were in place to stymie the spread of COVID-19 from midday, June 1.

Here's what they mean:

Travel

* Unrestricted travel by sea, air or road will be permitted throughout the state.

* Lifting of travel restrictions does NOT apply to biosecurity or restricted zones in place to protect remote and vulnerable indigenous communities.

Borders

* They remain closed until at least July with a decision to be made on when they will open by mid-June

Households

* The number of people permitted to visit each household will increase to 20.

Gatherings

* Places of worship will be free to accommodate 20 people at any one time.

Sport

* Community sporting events where clubs have more than one field, a limit of 20 spectators per field will apply.

* Gyms and personal trainers will be permitted to have classes of up to 20 participants or 20 people in a facility at once.

Cafes and restaurants

* Their capacity increases to 20 patrons but table service only.

Hotels, clubs and RSL's

* Allowed up to 20 people to either eat or drink and all patrons must be seated,

* Table service only and staff restricted to only working in a single designated area.

* From midday Friday, June 5, up to 20 people per separated section will be allowed in pubs and clubs, provided a COVID Safe Plan is in place.
