Qld cow chows down on snake

A carefree Queensland cow has made a meal of a snake, casually chowing down on the reptile in a paddock.

The vision of the cow, named Ginger, was snapped at a Monduran property inland from Bundaberg on the weekend.

Farm owner Janet Buchanan said she was clearing grass with her husband Shane when she noticed something unusual dangling from Ginger's mouth.

"I first thought it was a piece of rope but it had a curved shape and appeared to look like a snake," Mrs Buchanan told AAP.

A closer inspection revealed it was indeed a green tree snake, believed to be already dead.

"She finished the whole thing, it was like a kid eating a jelly snake," she said.

"I'm so amazed, and lucky I had my phone to record it or no one would have believed me."

Ginger, one of several cows on the Buchanan's hobby farm, has a track record of munching on strange objects but has shown no ill-effects following her most recent meal.
