Qld cop suspended over 'assault'

A Queensland police officer has been suspended over assault allegations.

The 43-year-old male senior constable from the southern region will appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court on September 9.

"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have an undertaking to inform the public when an officer faces criminal charges," the Queensland Police Service said in a written statement.
