Qld cop in court on hacking charges

A Brisbane police officer has fronted court accused of hacking the state crime database.

Sergeant Michael Andrew Neiland, 47, was charged by the Corruption and Crime Commission in June for alleged unauthorised use of the Queensland Police Service Qprime database.

Neiland appeared in Brisbane's Roma Street Magistrates Court on Monday where his case was adjourned to next month.

He is charged with three counts of computer hacking and three counts of misconduct in relation to public office.
