Police investigating an alleged cocaine-trafficking syndicate have arrested and charged a Gold Coast man.

The 49-year-old has been charged with supplying and possession of a dangerous drug after his arrest on Tuesday night.

Police say the arrest is the result of a joint investigation between the Crime and Corruption Commission and the Queensland Police Service into a syndicate believed to be trafficking and distributing cocaine across south-east Queensland.

Tuesday's arrest is linked to a seizure of more than 200g of cocaine worth approximately $80,000 in October.

"This investigation remains ongoing with further arrests expected," Detective Inspector Scott Knowles said.

The man charged on Tuesday is set to face Southport Magistrates Court on February 6.
