Qld can't stop mine activist law changes

Queensland's government admits it can't stop the repeal of federal laws allowing activists to use courts to hold up major projects.

The federal government wants to amend the laws and State Development Minister Anthony Lynham has conceded their area of responsibility.

""I support the community's right to object, we are a democratic society, but ... that's a matter for the Commonwealth," he told a budget estimates hearing on Wednesday.
