WHAT'S THE DAMAGE?

* Sixteen homes lost - 15 in central Queensland at Cobraball and one at Cooroibah on the Sunshine Coast

* 34 homes lost since September 1

* More than 80 fires are still burning, with more than 2000 reported since September 1

* 158,000 hectares of land burnt out

WHO'S FIGHTING THE FIRES?

* 3600 firefighters, including 120 from New Zealand, Northern Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and the ACT

* About 130 active appliances and 30 aircraft

WHERE ARE THE MOST SEROUS FIRES?

* Crows Nest, part of the Pechey fire, has prompted an emergency warning

* The large fire burning in Ravensbourne is heading towards Crows Nest

* Moreton Island - the blaze is close to Bulwer, with people told to leave as crews try to steer the blaze around the tiny township

* Cobraball - slow-moving fires west of Yeppoon and at Woodgate, south of Bundaberg, now mostly contained

* Border ranges - a cluster of blazes in inaccessible land in the Border Ranges region, from Cunninghams Gap and Spicers Gap south to Mount Barney and Mount Lindsay

WHEN WILL IT END?

* No end is in sight, with no significant rainfall forecast

* Conditions to deteriorate from Wednesday

* Most of Queensland faces high or very high fire danger in the days ahead

* A state of fire emergency has been declared across 42 local government areas.
