Qld boy charged over excavator joyride

A teenager has been charged after allegedly taking an excavator on a destructive joyride south of Brisbane.
A police helicopter was deployed to catch the 16-year-old after he allegedly stole the $350,000 piece of machinery from a housing development at Yarrabilba, southwest of Logan, and ploughed it through fencing and pine trees in a nearby national forest.
The boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, wilful damage, trespass and receiving tainted property.
