Qld bikie nabbed with $40k in pillow case

A Hells Angels bikie has been caught strolling along the Gold Coast Highway with $40,000 stuffed inside a pillow case, and another $75,000 and half a kilogram of drugs in his rental car.

The 36-year-old was caught with the sack of cash and the keys to a rental car when police pounced on him in a targeted operation on Saturday morning.

Officers later searched a rented vehicle left outside a Miami property and found another $75,000 hidden in the padding of the back seat, and half a kilogram of the drug ice.

The man has been charged with possessing a dangerous drug and tainted property and is due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.

"The seizure of 500 grams of ice and a significant amount of cash on a confirmed Hells Angels member on a Saturday morning in the middle of the Gold Coast is a significant concern," Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens said.

He said bikie and other criminal gangs continued to be in the crosshairs of police.

"The focus on their criminal activities is coming from all of the Queensland Police Service, and that this attention is relentless."

The man was targeted by local police and officers from the anti-gang Taskforce Maxima.
