Prisoner on the run in southwest Queensland

A prisoner is on the run after allegedly escaping from police custody while being treated at a hospital in Queensland's southwest.

Christopher James Beck, 27, was in custody in relation to a number of drug charges when he escaped from Roma Hospital on Thursday morning.

Beck was wearing shorts and a brown prison shirt with an orange singlet underneath when he fled.

Police say he may be travelling with a woman in a white 2002 Nissan Elgrand wagon with Queensland registration 582RZO.
