Posters offer $5000 reward for missing Aussie surfer ‘alive or not’

A $5000 reward for finding missing Queensland surfer Peter Maynard “alive or not” has been offered up in Bali.
The reward information detailed on posters has been added to police missing person announcements, News Corp reported.
The posters read: “Peter Maynard. $5000.00 Aus for body alive or not”.
Indonesian police have confirmed they will continue the search for the father-of-three for at least another 15 days.
Australian consulate staff have not confirmed who posted the reward, but it is believed to have been offered by relatives.
Bali locals said the move was unusual and strayed from the norm, with the incentive “very generous”.
Kylie and Mr Maynard’s brother John are said to be exhausted following their heavy involvement in the search over recent days.
Mr Maynard has now been missing for almost a fortnight. He disappeared while on a solo surf trip.
His wife Kylie confirmed a piece of surfboard found belonged to her husband on Sunday.
The snapped top part of the board was discovered near the Shipwrecks break on Nusa Lembongan island.
Head of the crime section of Klungkung Police, Nyoman Wirajaya, said he had not given up hope of a breakthrough “as many possibility could have happened".
“We have experience when Japanese diver missing in Nusa Lembongan, many of them were found alive after several days,’’ he told News Corp.
Police said the search would not be limited to the standard procedure of 15 days from when he was reported missing on August 28.
“We will evaluate and decide whether we will continue to search or stop,” Mr Wirajaya said.
