Policeman suspended over drug allegations

A suspended Queensland police officer will face court after allegedly being found with dangerous drugs.

The Crime and Corruption Commission searched a property in the inner-Brisbane suburb of Teneriffe on Wednesday night after conducting a covert investigation.

There they allegedly found the 36-year-old sergeant with dangerous drugs.

He was suspended from official duty on Thursday, but this doesn't mean the allegations against him are substantiated, police say.

He'll appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 25 to face two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
