Queensland police officer in hit and run

A police officer escaped unhurt when his car was rammed by a driver in a hit and run.

The officer had pulled in to the driveway of home in Painswick Street, Rockhampton, on Friday afternoon when a vehicle reversed in to him at speed, pushing the police car sideways.

The car, being driven by a man, was last seen heading towards Berserker and was later found abandoned in Koongal, Queensland Police said.
