Police officer hit by car on Gold Coast

A Queensland police officer has been struck by a car while attending to a traffic accident on the Gold Coast.

The officer had got out of his car to help people involved in the accident at Tugun just before midday on Monday when a car travelling north on the M1 lost control and hit him.

He has been taken to hospital with head and internal injuries and his condition is reportedly stable.
